Is it Friday, yet

Actually, this week has gone by pretty quickly.  Next week should, too, since I am only working Monday and Tuesday (and this weekend).

This afternoon I had a small cookie I’d been hording since last week.  I think it had pieces of toffee on top.

I need a manicure.

I also had some Arizona pomegranate-acai tea and a navel orange.

After work I went to the gym and did 15 minutes of cardio before taking a 1 hr. PiYo class and then did another 15 minutes of cardio.  I updated the Workouts tab.

When I got home I changed clothes and then Josh and I went out Christmas shopping.  We went to Costco, Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, and the mall.

We ended up eating fast food because I failed to plan (and therefore planned to fail).  We went to Arbys and I got the “small” beef & cheddar combo with curly fries.

After Arby’s is when we went to the mall.  We looked for a while at Japanese Chin-Poos (too small!!) and a Pomeranian.  I would really like to get a small dog that I can cuddle with but that can also hold its own with our Rottweiler Lab mix.  My mom and my brother both have Pomeranians and I know they are good dogs.  But…my heart is still broken over the loss of my baby cat, Monster, and I feel like if we get another animal we’ll be admitting she’s really not coming home.

From my experience over the last 6 months or so, having a pet go missing is worse than having one pass away.  It hurts just to think about her and I miss her so much.  We had her since she was a kitten and she was 6 years old when she disappeared.   I keep expecting her to just show up, but it hasn’t happened.  Flyers, ads, Craigslist, AmberPetAlert.com…nothing.

Sorry to be a downer, I guess I just needed to vent.

Well, this isn’t helping anything.  Now I’m crying.  PMS anyone?

Back on topic…We’re having a holiday breakfast at work on Tuesday.  I think I’m going to bring some quiches.  Anyone got a good quiche recipe they’d like to share?

BTW…I’m on Twitter now so follow me @lovinlosing.

  1. *hugs* I can’t imagine having a pet go missing. Having one pass away is hard enough but not knowing about the missing one… gah, I wanna cry just thinking about it. Hopefully Monster stumbled upon an awesome family who is taking great care of her.

  2. I am with you on the missing pet thing. My cat went missing September 11 2008 and I am still looking for her…
As for the Japanese Chin Poo, I have a Chin (and ironically a standard poodle) and she stands up to the big guys just great – she is the biggest little dog I have ever met
P.S. her name is Chin-E, clearly I need a clue!

  3. I’m also a cat person. I’m sorry that you lost your cat. =c
